Microforce Digita 2
The Digital Micro Force 2 drives the DM-1X and DM-2 digital motors. It automatically calibrates the motors to the mechanical span of the lens, preventing accidental damage to either the lens or motor. A bright LED bargraph displays the zoom position. Electronic limit stops can be set with the touch of a button. The soft stop feature allows the user to automatically slow the zoom a programmed distance from its end of travel. This is especially useful when doing a fast "snap" zoom, or when the user must both operate the camera and control the zoom at the same time.
MDR-2 Motor control box
The Preston Motor Driver MDR2 Lens Motor accepts commands from the Hand Units connected via the wireless microwave link or cable, and controls up to three digital motors as well as camera functions for both film and video cameras. In addition, it allows wireless control of both the camera frame rate and shutter angle when used in conjunction with the F/X box.
Preston DM2 Motor
The DM2 motor is a smaller and lighter version of the original DM1. It is intended to perform the Focus, Iris or Zoom functions on all but the stiffest cinema lenses. (These jobs should still be relegated to its bigger brother DM1.) The length of the DM2 housing is 100mm (3.9"), compared to 120mm (4.7") for the DM1, while its weight has been reduced by 30% of the DM1; from 415g to 290g. It has the same rugged worm reduction gearing as the DM-1 with DLC coatings. It also shares motor housings which are machined from a solid bar of Magnesium alloy and coated with a special ceramic before painting. This combination provides exceptional resistance to salt spray and moisture. The small size and high resolution of the DM2 motor make it ideally suited for Steadicam and HDTV applications. Step-up gears are available for use with Panavision cinema lenses as well as Canon and Fujinon video lenses. The mounting brackets are the same for both the DM-1 and DM-2, and are available for use with 15mm, 19mm, and .625" rod systems. The DM-2 motor may be used interchangeably as a zoom focus or iris drive. A 15mm mounting rod is fixed to the motor body. Motor ships with 15mm rod and .80m output gear.
Preston DM1X Digital Motor
The DM1X digital motor can drive the focus rings of lenses at the highest speed available, approximately 2x the speed of the DM1,
ideal for the latest generation of large diameter zoom lenses.
